MIA
The four members of the Mia team have a wide range of experience.
Mia Nisbet is a textile designer with a first class degree from Glasgow School of art and design, whilst her sister and team mate Zoe is a social anthropologist who has spent time working for UNICEF in Malawi; Tusekile Wilkinson brings traditional African tailoring experience to the team whilst James Sichone is responsible for team administration and marketing. Team Mia demonstrate how innovative ideas are often born from the meeting of diverse interests and experience.

Mia will use second-hand clothing sourced in Malawi as the basis for their range combining these reclaimed fabrics with traditional Malawian textiles; they also intend to use the manufacture of their clothing as a basis for creating fair-trade co-operatives in the region. Not surprisingly Mia chose recycling pioneers Junky Styling as their business mentor; after meeting the team and hearing their pitch Junky saw the huge potential to develop an innovative and exciting concept into a successful business and so begins a beautiful relationship.
